Vietnam and Japan are seeking to deepen their bilateral relations through enhanced cooperation across several sectors, including diplomacy, security, and trade, as well as economic security and technology. This development was highlighted in a message from Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu on the occasion of Vietnam’s 81st National Day, emphasizing Japan’s commitment to working with Vietnam towards mutual prosperity.
Japanese Finance Minister Katayama Satsuki underscored that the partnership between the two nations has entered a new phase, presenting opportunities for collaboration in areas like finance, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, critical minerals, and energy. She noted that such cooperation could bolster economic growth and contribute to regional stability.
According to Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu, the relationship between Vietnam and Japan is at its strongest, with significant strides in science and technology, innovation, green and digital transformation, energy, and the development of skilled human resources. These areas of cooperation reflect the complementary economic strengths and growing trust between the two countries.
The Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership continues to expand, with both nations aiming to strengthen parliamentary exchanges and cooperation. The substantial Vietnamese community in Japan serves as another vital link, enhancing economic and social ties between the countries.
