Vietnam and Qatar celebrated their deepening ties during Vietnam’s National Day event in Doha, underscoring a robust partnership that spans multiple sectors. The gathering, which marked the 81st anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day, brought together senior figures from Qatar, including diplomats and business leaders, alongside Vietnamese officials.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Qatar Nguyen Huy Hiep emphasized the significant progress in Vietnam’s development and its expanding international relations, particularly with Qatar. Since establishing diplomatic relations in 1993, the two countries have broadened their cooperation across various industries such as trade, investment, energy, labor, aviation, and telecommunications.
Economic interactions between Vietnam and Qatar have notably increased, with bilateral trade reaching approximately $423 million in 2025. This growth reflects a burgeoning interest from both sides in exploring further business engagements and investment opportunities.
High-level exchanges have played a pivotal role in strengthening these ties. Notably, Qatar’s prime minister visited Vietnam in October 2024, an event that underscored mutual interests in enhancing bilateral cooperation and expanding economic partnerships.
The event in Doha not only highlighted the achievements and ongoing projects between the two countries but also reinforced the shared commitment to peace, dialogue, and international cooperation. As both nations continue to collaborate, the prospects for future growth and partnership appear promising.
