Thai sprinter Puripol Boonson has successfully advanced to the semi-finals of the men’s 100-meter race at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games. Boonson secured his place by winning his qualifying heat with an impressive time of 9.95 seconds at the Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium in Japan.
In the women’s 100-meter event, Jirapat Khanonta also made significant strides, advancing to the semi-finals after clocking a personal-best time of 11.45 seconds to win her heat. Additionally, fellow Thai sprinter Sukanda Petraksa qualified for the semi-finals by finishing third in her heat with a time of 11.54 seconds.
The schedule for the semi-finals is set, with the women’s 100-meter semi-finals slated for September 25, followed by the men’s semi-finals later on the same day.
