TOKYO – Hotel Okura Co., Ltd. announced today it will open Okura Resort Hakone Gora in 2029, its first resort property in Japan. The development follows a July 2025 management agreement with Nishimatsu Construction Co., Ltd.
Located in Hakone Gora, which attracts 20 million visitors annually, the resort will feature 58 guest rooms designed around a “Forest Hideaway” concept by Gwenael Nicolas. Every room includes a private outdoor hot spring bath with Owakudani thermal waters.
“We are committed to delivering our bespoke hospitality experience in a location that deeply embodies Japan’s profound heritage and natural splendor,” stated President Toshihiro Ogita.
Additional amenities include indoor bathing facilities, a teppanyaki restaurant, and a bar lounge.
