In Hanoi, Vietnam’s Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng engaged in discussions with Jennifer Wicks, the newly appointed US Ambassador, to underscore Vietnam’s dedication to enhancing its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the United States. The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the US as a pivotal partner for Vietnam and advocated for reinforced collaboration across various sectors including trade, investment, technology, education, digital transformation, and security.

Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng emphasized the need for both nations to conclude a fair and balanced bilateral trade agreement, aiming to provide businesses with greater certainty. The talks also delved into cooperation in defense, cybersecurity, law enforcement, and humanitarian assistance. A key focus was on addressing the legacy of the Vietnam War, with specific attention to dioxin cleanup, removal of unexploded ordnance, and the identification of missing soldiers.
