Qatar, Thailand Enhance Trade and Investment Ties in New Agreement

In a recent meeting held in Bangkok, Qatar and Thailand explored new avenues to enhance their bilateral trade and investment relations. The discussions took place between Mohammed bin Twar Al Kuwari, First Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber, and senior representatives from Thailand’s Board of Trade, including Songsang Patavanich and Jarudol Tulayakijja. This meeting aimed to strengthen the economic ties between the two nations by fostering business engagement and encouraging joint ventures.

The conversation centered on ways to boost trade and investment cooperation, with both parties highlighting the crucial role of business organizations in promoting partnerships. Al Kuwari emphasized the robust economic relationship shared by Qatar and Thailand, pointing out that their bilateral trade reached about QR12.4 billion in 2025. He stressed the significance of private-sector collaboration in driving future growth through strategic partnerships and investment initiatives in promising sectors.

Additionally, the meeting underscored the importance of chambers of commerce in connecting businesses, sharing market expertise, and identifying new investment opportunities. These efforts are seen as pivotal in supporting long-term economic cooperation between the two countries.

Thai officials reiterated their commitment to strengthening economic ties with Qatar. They expressed readiness to work closely with Qatar Chamber to facilitate business exchanges, attract investments, and expand commercial partnerships between companies from both nations.
